CHRISTMAS
in
CIRCAN's Hearts
By Janielle Ann M. Vallestero
For many UP Students, December 16 was much anticipated since it marks the first day of the Christmas vacation. But for us CIRCANS, the same day was equally much awaited because after several weeks of collecting toys, CIRCA would be able to finally give them out as gifts. It was definitely an experience of the true meaning of the Christmas Spirit.... caring, sharing, and giving. CIRCANS went to the Philippine Children's Medical Center Pediatric Ward. Our visit was able to bring smiles to the estimated sixty to seventy children confined in the hospital during the yuletide season. Toys, clothes, and loot bags were given to the ailing patients while their caretakers were given meals as Jollibee Philcoa co-sponsored this endeavor by providing food. After the gift-giving and picture taking, CIRCANS enthusiastically rendered Christmas carols along the halls of the ward. It was definitely a worthwhile undertaking as CIRCANS continually uphold one of its major thrusts, SOCIAL COMMITMENT. A similar outreach project happened last Christmas of 1999 at the pediatric section of the East Avenue Medical Center. Circa would like to extend its gratitude for the people of the NCPAG community who were so kind in sharing their blessings by donating toys and bringing love and joy to the hearts of our underprivileged brethrens. Thank you very much and we look forward for your support in our future projects.
